I’m excited to share insights from Leading Lady Ambassador Chrissy Rey today. If you’ve been struggling with content creation – sitting down to write and feeling totally stuck, or spending way too much time on a single blog post, Chrissy’s got you covered. She helps business owners use AI to streamline their content creation without losing their authentic voice, and trust me, this approach has been a game-changer for so many women in our community.
Picture this: It’s 9 PM on a Tuesday. You’ve just wrapped your last client call, helped with homework, and finally sat down to tackle your marketing. You open your laptop, stare at a blank blog post, and think, “What the heck am I supposed to write about this week?”
Sound familiar?
If you’re like most women entrepreneurs I work with, content creation feels like this endless, overwhelming task that somehow never gets easier, no matter how many “batch content” strategies you try.
And now everyone’s talking about AI for content creation. But here’s what you’re probably thinking: “Won’t that make me sound like a robot? I’ve worked so hard to build my authentic voice, and I don’t want to throw that away for efficiency.”
I get it. But here’s what I’ve discovered after helping hundreds of business owners streamline their content: AI doesn’t have to make you sound generic. When done right, it can actually help you sound MORE like yourself, not less.
The Content Creation Reality
You know you need to show up online consistently. Your ideal clients are scrolling social media, reading blogs, and making decisions about who to hire based on what they see. But between client work, admin tasks, and actually running your business, content creation always gets pushed to the bottom of your list.
When you do finally sit down to create, you’re mentally exhausted. You end up posting something generic just to “get it done,” or worse, you don’t post at all and then feel guilty about it.
I get it. I’ve been there!
The truth? Nina from She Knows SEO did a poll and found that most respondents spend 5-6 hours writing a single 2,000-word blog post. That’s nearly an entire workday just for one piece of content. And that doesn’t even count social media posts, email newsletters, or website copy updates.
And then there’s the mental load of constantly thinking, “I should post something,” or “I need content ideas,” or “Ugh! I forgot to post again!”
Debunking the “AI vs. Authentic” Myth
You’ve probably heard that using AI to create content will make you sound fake, robotic, or inauthentic. That’s a myth based on the assumption that you have to either spend hours crafting every word yourself or use AI and sacrifice your unique voice. But it’s a false choice.
Here’s the reality: AI content tools are just that—tools. You probably use Canva for graphics instead of hiring a designer for every single post. You might use scheduling software instead of logging into Instagram five times a day. These tools don’t make your business less authentic—they make it more efficient.
AI works the same way. It’s like having a writing assistant who never gets tired, never has writer’s block, and can help you get your thoughts organized quickly.
The difference between generic AI content and authentic AI content comes down to training. When you give AI generic prompts like “write a social media post about productivity,” you get generic results. But when you teach AI about your business, your clients, your unique perspective, and your voice? That’s when the magic happens.
I recently worked with a business coach who was spending 4 hours every week writing her weekly blog post. She was convinced AI would make her sound “corporate and cold.” After learning how to train AI with her voice and expertise, she now creates that same blog post in about an hour. And those blog posts are not only bringing more traffic to her website, but also turning into leads! Best of all, she has more mental energy to focus on serving her clients.
The myth says AI kills authenticity. The truth? When used correctly, AI can actually help you be MORE authentic because you’re not burned out from the writing process.
The Framework to Train AI to Sound Like You
Here’s the simplified version of how this actually works. Don’t worry—I’m not going to overwhelm you with every detail here, but I want you to see this is totally doable.
Step 1: Document Your Voice: You need to give AI examples of how you actually write and talk. This might be a few of your favorite social media posts, a blog post you’re proud of, or even just answering a few questions about your brand personality. The key is being specific about your style. Are you casual or polished? Do you use humor? How do you want people to feel when they read your content?
Step 2: Create Your AI Prompts: This is where many people get stuck, but it’s simpler than you think. You create complete prompts that include your business details, target audience, and voice guidelines, along with the specific role you want AI to play and the exact task you need done. Think of it like giving a new team member both their job description AND detailed instructions about your brand standards.
Step 3: Refine and Customize: AI can give you a great first draft, but you’re still the editor. It’s your name that’s going out with that content! Take time to refine the content with the AI and then edit it further outside of the AI.
Remember that poll that said it took 5-6 hours to write a single 2,000-word blog post? With AI, you’re looking at a fraction of that. Some AI gurus claim it takes just minutes to write a blog post, but they’re likely skipping Step 3. It usually takes me about an hour to create a single, high-quality 2,000-word blog post from scratch, and a bit less if I’m repurposing something. That means I can get a month’s worth of weekly blog posts in half a day.
Real-World Applications for Your Business
Once you have AI trained to sound like you, you can use it for practically everything:
- Blog posts that position you as the expert in your field while improving your SEO. Imagine being able to turn your expertise into valuable, searchable content without staring at a blank page for hours.
- Social media captions that actually engage your ideal clients instead of getting lost in the scroll. You can create weeks of content in an afternoon, all in your authentic voice.
- Email newsletters that nurture your audience and keep you top-of-mind. No more Sunday panic about what to send your list this week.
- Website copy that converts visitors into clients because it speaks directly to their pain points in your unique way.
And here’s my favorite part: repurposing becomes effortless. You can take one piece of content and turn it into several others. I do this all the time with my clients! We can turn one podcast episode into a blog post, several social media posts, and a newsletter. All in their voice, all valuable to their audience.
What This Means for Your Business Growth
When content creation stops being this massive time drain, everything changes.
Instead of spending 5-6 hours on a single blog post, you’re done in a fraction of the time and often with better results because you’re not mentally exhausted from staring at a blank page for hours. Those social media captions that used to take 30-45 minutes? Now they take 10-15 minutes, and they still sound like you.
You get back hours every week that you can invest in client work, business development, or actual rest and time with your family.
Most importantly, you stop feeling guilty about your marketing. Instead of this thing you “should” be doing, content creation becomes a tool that actually works for your business growth. I’ve seen women entrepreneurs transform their relationship with marketing once they have systems that actually support them, rather than draining them.
Your Next Step
The biggest mistake I see entrepreneurs make is thinking they need to figure this out alone. Yes, you can probably Google “how to use ChatGPT for business” and piece together information from twelve different blog posts. But why would you want to? Who has time for that?!
If you’re ready to master this approach and want step-by-step guidance on training AI to sound exactly like you, I’m teaching my hands-on AI Content Quickstart workshop on September 15, 2025, at 6 pm EDT. You can join me in person at The Collective in Annapolis or online from anywhere. In just two hours, you’ll walk away with your own AI-trained voice, ready-to-use prompts, and a system for creating authentic content efficiently. I’ll be sharing the recording from the live session in The Hub, so if you can’t join us live, head over there to watch it after September 15th.
This isn’t about replacing your expertise. It’s about giving you the tools to share it more effectively. Your voice matters. Your expertise deserves to be heard. AI just helps you share it without burning out in the process.
Because here’s what I know about you: you didn’t start your business to spend every evening stressing about what to post on your blog. You started it to make a difference. Let’s make sure your marketing supports that mission instead of getting in the way of it.
