Do you ever feel like your hormones control your life?
Your hormones affect almost every system in your body, so when you’re going through hormonal changes, it can really wreak havoc on your life. I asked Dr. Sara Poldmae to join me for this episode to talk about what’s going on with our hormones in midlife and how to take back control.
You don’t have to feel terrible all the time. There are simple and gentle things you can do to support your body and regulate your hormones to improve your symptoms, whatever they may be. Headaches, fatigue, mood swings, and aches and pains are all common complaints, but there are so many other things you might be experiencing that you never knew were caused by hormones. Let’s unpack it all in this episode.
Dr. Sara Poldmae is a doctor of acupuncture and Chinese medicine and a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner who has been practicing holistic healthcare since 1998. She completed her doctorate at the Pacific College of Health and Science in San Diego, California, and her training has included over 4,000 hours in acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and Western medicine sciences. Dr. Sara focuses heavily on women’s healthcare, including fertility, PCOS, PMS, and menopausal issues, but she enjoys working with a wide variety of complex health issues. Dr. Sara opened Meadow Hill Wellness in 2005, with the goal of integrating traditional and holistic care to maintain her patients’ lifelong health effectively.
In Today’s Episode We Discuss:
- How hormones affect almost every system in your body
- The importance of caring for your cardiovascular health
- Challenging the norm that you’re supposed to feel bad during menopause and hormonal changes
- How to feel your best at this time in your life
- Ways to reduce stress and improve sleep
Menopause presents challenges for sure, but it can also be an opportunity to reconnect with your body and listen to what it’s trying to tell you. I hope Dr. Sara and I can offer you some reassurance in this episode that you’re not alone and there are options available to you. You don’t have to settle for feeling bad, so if that’s where you’re at right now, let us help!
