How confident are you that you set clear boundaries and expectations with your employees and clients?
In this episode, I am talking all about the importance of clear agreements, contracts, job descriptions, and scopes of work.
Lately, I’ve been having a lot of conversations with my own clients about struggles that they’re having either managing employees or managing projects that they’re doing with clients. Usually, this is due to unclear boundaries and expectations.
Unclear boundaries and expectations can happen with both employees and clients, and this can cause a lot of frustration, confusion, and disappointment for everyone.
In Today’s Episode We Discuss:
- The problem with hiring without specific job duties determined
- What you need to do before you onboard employees
- What you need to do before working with new clients
- How to handle scope creeping with clients
- What you need to fall back on if something goes wrong
- The problem with leading with emotion instead of policy
- How to have frequent check-ins and get back on track
I want to stress the importance of having open conversations about the details of your agreements, contracts, job descriptions, and scopes of work from the very beginning of your relationships with employees or clients to avoid any misunderstandings. This will GREATLY benefit both parties!
Always remember that it’s important to have policies in place so that you can refer back to them when things get sticky!
