Do you practice self-care?
We hear all the time that self-care is so important. We are always encouraged to practice it with meditation, bubble baths, and walks. But the world and all of our expectations, responsibilities, and commitments can make any form of real self-care feel impossible. We have families and businesses and friends, and it’s easy to prioritize ourselves last!
In this episode of The Leading Lady Podcast, I’m sharing why self-care is actually an act of bravery and why you need to start making yourself a priority in your life for your own well-being.
As high-achieving women, it’s scary to take a step back when we need it because we don’t want to let anyone down. That means that you have to say no and back out of commitments when you over-committed yourself, and it takes courage to admit to others that you need to prioritize your mental health.
In a world where we are idolized for stretching ourselves too thin, being a part of hustle culture, and being seen as a woman that can do all the things, it is so easy for self-care to just fall off our radar.
In Today’s Episode We Discuss:
- Why most women don’t prioritize self-care
- The importance of knowing your own worth
- Instances where I had to practice some serious self-care
- Why it’s okay to step back sometimes
Sometimes the words that I need to hear are to simply be brave. Be brave in taking care of yourself so that you can nurture and be well within yourself.
I hope this message finds you if you needed it. I hope it’s a good reminder that you are worth it and that self-care isn’t as simple as people make it out to be. Sometimes it’s scary, and you have to be brave to do it.
