I frequently get requests in the Leading Ladies Facebook group to do a podcast focusing on mental health. Supporting your mental health is SO important to me, and I have done my best to be honest about my own mental health challenges. In my opinion, discussing mental health allows us to normalize the topic and allow people to get the information and help they so desperately need.
In this episode, I’m thrilled to chat with an expert on this topic – Maria Winters. Maria is a dear friend of mine, and I’ve had the pleasure of knowing her for many years as her children were enrolled in my private childcare center. In addition, she is also a licensed Mental Health Therapist with 17+ years of experience in individual and group therapy with adolescents and adults. She currently works in an ER conducting psychiatric evaluations, running therapy groups in a psychiatric day hospital, and teaching Psychology courses in a community college.
In today’s episode Maria and I chat about ways we can do a quick check on our current mental state and strategies to improve on a day-to-day basis.
